Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What ages can participate?

A: Boys and girls ages 4-14 are welcome to participate. We have a Warrior in Training class for kids ages 4-7 that helps your kid get to know wrestling and learn the basics.

Q: What should my child wear to practice?

A: Athletic shorts and a T-shirt is acceptable for practice. We do recommend wrestling shoes and headgear. Both can be purchased at athletic stores or online.

We also recommend every wrestler bring a water bottle to practice.

Q: Where do I enter for practice?

A: At Hazelwood East, wrestlers should enter through Door 6.

At John Burroughs the entrance is on Clayton Rd., not Price as the address suggests. Once on campus, enter through the main entrance.

Q: Do you offer private practices?

A: Yes, private training sessions are offered for $100/hour with a maximum of 2 kids per session. These sessions are offered on weekends when the team is not participating in tournaments.

Q: How is safety handled during practice?

A: Safety is the highest priority during Warrior practices and we do everything we can to prevent injury. However, it is the parent's responsibility to discuss the risk of injury with their wrestler(s) and treat injuries accordingly.

Q: Do we have to participate in tournaments?

A: All competition is offered on an ala cart basis, meaning we will inform you of the various events we participate in as a team, but it is the parent's choice and responsibility to sign their wrestler up for those and any other events. Therefore, you are in control of how much or how little you'd like to compete.

Q: What is included in the session fees?

A: Session fees include practice on your level's designated nights.

USA and AAU registration is required to practice. You are responsible for obtaining a USA and/or AAU card for your wrestler(s).  Tournament fees, uniforms, and any other gear is an additional cost, but is offered ala cart to fit your budget.
